So, you are interested in submitting content to be included in the Print Magazine.. great. Let’s go over some important things..
First
There is a $25 application fee. This is returned to you upon publication of your work. There are waaay too many spammers and time wasters out there. If you are serious about this opportunity.. you already are above the fold!
Second
Some notes on initial outreach.. over the years I have paid attention to some really fun ways of getting the word out there. And some regular (?) ways.. in order to “pre- seed” communities with content from the web sites, I am interested in sending out stuff: Stickers will be three or four to a page- easy to peel and stick where other people can see, scan.. and learn more. Flyers are 8.5x 11 sheets of alternative attention attraction with QR codes to take people to the sites. Tshirts are.. well, wearables.. and they ship when I can, printed by a Print on Demand company.. if more than one design are available, I’ll let you choose (and you gotta tell me sizing too before I place the order for your shirt). The newsletter is a “legal sheet” or 8.5x 14″ sheet, printed on both sides (black and white).. and while I can print a stack for you (you’ll need to fold them so shipping is flat and easy), I’d prefer if you could print, fold, and distro for me.
PHREAQ0UT Film Festival
During the 30 hour streamed “telethon” that takes place a week or two after the magazine hits the stands, I’m streaming a second round of films in a “film festival” orientation/ break out room. The first evening is Screen and Vote.. the second night is awards to the winners.. but, I want to involve local venues for preliminary screenings BEFORE the telethon.. know of a cool spot that might wanna screen (free- votes are free too) submissions? All they need to do is tune their in- house smart TV’s to our stream and let us take it from there.
