Further Within Radio Free Internet

I’m starting to post my old radio show to the site.. it was a fun (?!) experiment and I loved the interactions..

The station was 93.9FM in the Hudson River Valley and I was a digitally connected “Mixologist” broadcasting live from the sunny Okanagan in to their “drive to work” time slot.

I had to get up at 3am to prep myself and proof my scripting (I hate hearing the “uhmmm” of dead mind space so I thought out what I wanted to say, wrote it out, and prepped it over and over before saying it live) so I’d be live at 4am.. if you can see the track names, you’ll notive that the last few numerical designations are usually 400 or 359 or something like that.. that’s the time I would flip the switch and take over broadcast from the previous mixologist. 

I seem to remember a show I had to keep going for awhile.. but not sure.

Anyhow, after a year and changing job situations, I had to give it up. I’ll be posting these sporadically.. and sharing thoughts as I go.

Further Within.. without.. with… IN

A couple old dezines.. back when my project was titled “Further Within” due to the hopes of purchasing the pedal powered boat named “WiTHiN” (caps, theirs). But.. now its time to redouble efforts and kick this project in to high gear…
 
And here I am exampling the throughput of blog posts- this post was sourced from INSTA (yay.. love that platform… NOT!).. add a header image in wordpress, enhance the post content a bit and it re- blogs/ crossposts over to Bluesky as well as.. both the Standard Exhibit and Savage Progress… both sites. 
 
And then.. both TheSX and Savage Progress will crosspost out to 5 (soon to be more) websites.. sure, it’ll come through as a duplicate post but all that means is one post will get manually deleted since they crosspost as “DRAFTS” needing admin approval. So, I just go in and delete one of the two, leaving the remaining content from the two prime sites to be activated for readers entertainment and education!

Resurrection

Circa 1999!
About twenty five years ago.. I published a small rag that covered the entire Thompson- Okanagan valley for Arts and Entertainment! I loved that little rag.. I loved meeting and talking to artists.. and hob- nobbing with business peeps to create their ads and push my paper in to their customers collection points.

I had a vision..  I brought in friends to help out.. and that was my undoing!

Sampled Cover- Canadian Bobsleigh “second” Pat Akeson atop my first real bicycle- a Lotus Eclair Racer/ tourer that I rode the snot out of all over Ontario and Alberta!

Today..
I am resurrecting The Standard Exhibit as an Arts and Entertainment periodical but with MUCH GREATER coverage!

I am combining articles sourced from the soon to launch web portal of sustainability growth Savage Progress and The Standard Exhibit in to a quarterly PRINT magazine that will get distributed to hundreds of points in many major Canadian cities as well as direct- dropped to select destinations.. AND it’ll be available as a Google Slideshow Presentation (Google Doc, essentially) for those in outlying areas that wanna get and read an issue. And.. each issue will be enhanced with a HYBRID event streamed to an online audience through Stream- 0- Thon .. a 30 hour “telethon” with funds going to support Ocean Cyclist!

I’ll be hosting casting calls and talent searches.. so, watch out for specifics coming soon. All Castings, Calls, and Expressions of Interest will only be accepted through Ocean Cyclist.. to keep it all simple.
